Recreation & Tourism Dept. is pleased to announce
the launch of the Tourism Webinar Series to
assist the tourism industry in
planning and preparing for the upcoming 2012 tourism
season.
What is a webinar ? A
webinar is an on-line learning opportunity that is
generally 35 minutes to an hour with one
or more presenters. Generally participants will hear
the audio of the presenter along with seeing the
powerpoint
presentation on the screen of
your computer. Participants can ask questions
in the webinar by typing on their
computer
and they will be answered at the end of the
presentation.
The first webinar in
the series is "Making Informed Decisions
using Tourism Research " with Karen McNutt,
Senior Research Analyst, Tourism Division, NS
Economic, Rural Development and Tourism. This
webinar is
scheduled for Thursday,
February 2, 2012 beginning at 12:00 noon.
Description : The webinar will allow
participants to learn how to interpret and use
tourism research in planning
and
preparing for the upcoming 2012 tourism season.
Specifically :
1) Occupancy Rates
2) NS Tourism Key Indicators,
3) Visitor
Origins,
4) NS 2010 Visitor Exit Survey -
community report & ten key segments of the market.
Five takeaways will be provided at the
end of the presentation for the tourism
industry. A short question and
answer
period will follow the presentation.
