A Tribute to Glen MacDonald
One of Victoria County’s great tourism leaders, Glen MacDonald passed away after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was known as a family man, and as well a dedicated and committed tourism professional. I was fortunate to have him as a friend and tourism colleague.
He always spoke highly of his three girls – wife Gail and his twin daughters Megan and Amy. You could tell their was a great deal of love in his heart for his family.
Glen worked his way up thru the tourism industry and had experience in almost everything. I knew him as Director of Marketing and Sales, and event planner with Cape Breton Resorts and Events Cape Breton. We had great conversations together on a variety of subjects but one that always heighten his interest was brands and logos.
He was a great ambassador for tourism on Cape Breton Island and was always promoting the island to visitors and to businesses. Past president of Baddeck & Area Business Tourism Association and a member of the Nova Scotia Tourism Partnership Council and Cabot Trail Working Association.
Glen will be missed dearly by his family and Cape Breton’s Tourism Industry. RIP Glen. You will not be forgotten.
